INDIA’S SULA VINEYARDS TO EXPORT WINES TO AUSTRALIA

India’s leading wine producer Sula Vineyards recently announced that it is expanding into the Australian market. The company has partnered with Kismet Trading as their distributor in Adelaide with plans to expand to Melbourne and Sydney.
Sula Vineyards said in a statement that they will export their popular lines including Sauvignon Blanc, Dindori Reserve Shiraz and Riesling to the Australian market.
“In order to sell Sula Wines and create brand awareness with retail shops, Kismet Trading will target the Australian market at approximately 800 venues where Sula Vineyards’ wines will be proudly listed in menus as an international wine,” the company added in the statement.
Rajeev Samant, Founder and CEO of Sula Vineyards said: “Australia is one of the highest wine consuming countries in the world and we are happy that the Australian consumer now has the choice of experiencing robust flavours of our wines.”
Based in the wine producing area of Nashik, a mountainous area 167km to the Northwest of Mumbai, Sula Vineyards currently has over 60 percent of market share in the Indian domestic wine market.
As of 2019, Sula wines have presence in over 30 export markets globally including USA, UK, Germany, China, Italy and Spain.
According to some reports, Indian wine market has been growing at between 20 to 25 percent over the last five years. The share of domestic wine market in India is about 70 percent while that of imported wine is about 30 percent.
