To mark the end of its 35 years duty-free concession at Singapore’s Changi Airport, the global duty-free retailer DFS Group is offering up to 70 percent discounts and flash deals on its online store iShopChangiWines.com.

The DFS Group is Changi Airport’s oldest tenant, it is officially leaving the concession on 8 June, to be succeeded by South Korea’s Lotte Group.

In a press release issued yesterday, DFS said flash deals will be released at 9pm daily from 16 May tomorrow to 22 May Friday, on a first-come-first-served basis while stocks last.

Some of the items to be available in the flash sales include Chichibu whisky, Chateau Villa Bel Air Red, beers as well as fine wines and spirits from The Prestige Collection.

During this promotion period, the online store will provide complimentary delivery to customers who spend a minimum of SGD150 instead of the usual required spend of SGD250.

DFS Group's Managing Director of Asia South Aymeric Lacroix said: "As one of DFS' most esteemed allies for the last 35 years, we thank Changi Airport Group for their ongoing support and partnership. We will continue to serve our customers with the same passion for excellence that has distinguished us at Changi Airport until our official exit in June 2020."

From 9 June, South Korean operator Lotte Duty Free will take over 18 liquor and tobacco concession stores across Chnagi Airport’s four terminals, covering more than 8,000 sq m of retail space.

However, due the COVID-19 pandemic, Changi Airport is currently operating at a very low capacity with about 80 flights a week, down from about 7,400 flights at normal times.

The airport suspended operations at Terminal 2 on 1 May, operations at Terminal 4 will also be suspended from tomorrow.
