The German organiser of the ProWine shows, Messe Düsseldorf, said that the November show in Shanghai is on track and preparations for the Düsseldorf show in 2021 are in full swing. But next month’s ProWine São Paulo is now being postponed to next year.

Citing unclear rules issued by the Brazilian government regarding holding bigger events, which were allowed to take place in São Paulo from mid October, Messe Düsseldorf said it is too big a factor of uncertainty to reliably plan ProWine São Paulo.

Messe Düsseldorf said they have decided to postpone the event to October 2021 out of safety considerations. The event was originally scheduled for 20 to 22 October this year.

The German organiser also said that situation in China is different, where ProWine Shanghai can be held as planned from 10 to 12 November 2020.

In contrast to Brazil, Messe Düsseldorf said, there are clear requirements and rules in Shanghai according to which events can be held.

Major international exhibitors including the German Wine Institute, Viniportugal, Advantage Austria, Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association as well as Grands Chais de France have already signed up, Messe Düsseldorf said.

While leading Chinese producer Great Wall and some Chinese wine-growing regions will also take part.

Messe Düsseldorf also said planning for ProWein Düsseldorf 2021 is in full swing, the show can highly likely go ahead in March 2021. It said comprehensive hygiene concept is currently being developed and more information will be available shortly.

Other dates in the ProWein calendar include ProWine Singapore from 2 to 5 March 2021 and ProWine Hong Kong from 12 to 14 May 2021.

Meanwhile, Informa Markets organiser of Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong x Gourmet Asia show, announced yesterday that the 2020 show will be further rescheduled from 16-18 November to 11- 13 November at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Informa Markets said the rescheduled dates will allow them to move the event to a more spacious exhibition hall where they can better implement social distancing measures for the safety of participating exhibitors and visitors.
