SINGAPORE IS THE BIGGEST WINNER IN WORLD’S 50 BEST BARS 2021

Singapore is a big winner in the World’s 50 Best Bars Awards 2021, with six bars making to top 50. While Hong Kong’s Coa is the highest ranking bar from Asia at 7th place followed by Singapore’s Jigger and Pony on 9th place.
The top two places were given to bars from London. Connaught Bar was named the World’s Best Bar for the second year running, while Tayēr + Elementary climbed three places to be named runner up.
Organised by William Reed and voted for by an Academy of 600 bar industry experts, this year’s awards ceremony returned to a physical event and was held yesterday at London’s Roundhouse.
Singapore is the biggest winner among the 17 countries contributed to the top 50 list. Apart from Jigger and Pony at 7th place, Manhattan made to 15th, followed by Atlas at 16th, No Sleep Club at 26th, MO Bar at 36th and Tippling Club ad 43rd.
China and Hong Kong combined to return 6 bars on the top 50 list, apart from Hong Kong’s Coa on 7th place, Shanghai’s Sober Company, Epic and Union Trading Company made to 39th, 41st and 48th places respectively, while Hong Kong’s DarkSide and Quinary took 48th and 50th places.
Elsewhere in Asia, Japan has two bars on the top 50 list. They are Tokyo’s SG Club and Bar Benfiddich at 18th and 32nd places respectively.
Both South Korea and India has one bar on the list. Seoul’s Charles H is named 42th best bar while New Delhi’s Sidecar the 47th.
In terms of regions, Europe is home to 17 bars, Asia 15, North America 8, Australasia 4, South America 3 and Africa & The Middle East 2.
Barcelona’s Paradiso shot up 16 places to 3rd place. The Clumsies in Athens coming in at 4th, while Buenos Aires’s Florería Atlántico made to 5th place to finish the top 5 list.
