Japanese drinks giant Suntory has unveiled a limited-edition bottle of Hibiki Japanese Harmony whisky, which is a blend of malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries

The specially designed bottle, adorned with painted flowers and flowing ribbons of water, has a suggested retail price of USD125 per 750ml.

The Hibiki bottle's 24-faceted design is meant to symbolise the 24 hours in a day, and the 24 seasons of the year in the traditional Japanese lunar calendar.

The 2021 special edition pays homage to the Ryisui-Hyakka (One Hundred Flowers and Flowing Water) and celebrates different seasonal flowers which help characterise the Japanese seasons.

Jon Potter, managing director of the Suntory, said: "The iconic Hibiki bottle has always been a representation of Japanese art and design, as represented by the many limited-edition series over the past 10 years. This specially designed bottle is not only the continuation of this artistic expression; it honours Hibiki and Suntory's ethos to live in harmony with nature. In 2021, this philosophy may echo with the world more than ever."

The Hibiki brand was introduced in 1989, with Hibiki Japanese Harmony - a blend of malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita distilleries - released in 2015.

The 2021 Limited Edition (43% ABV) were available from Master of Malt and The Whisky Exchange.
