Independent Scotch distiller William Grant & Sons announced the opening of The Distillers Library in Bangkok, an exclusive space to be explored by connoisseurs and collectors with an invitation only.

The company first launched Distillers Library in Singapore in April last year, followed by launches in China and Vietnam last month. Connoisseurs in Bangkok will be the next in the world to be able to enjoy this curated experience.

Located at Piman 49 Heritage Project on Sukhumvit 49, The Bangkok Distillers Library will feature the rarest and most precious whiskies from the private archives of the William Grant & Sons family.

“Thailand has experienced rapid socio-economic growth in the last five years and its segment of affluent individuals continues to grow steadily, with Knight Frank estimating a 16 percent growth by 2025,” said Satya Sharma, Regional Managing Director of Southeast Asia and Australasia at William Grant & Sons.

“We want to provide this increasingly discerning audience a conducive and inspiring space for them to indulge in luxury whiskies and the unseen wonders that William Grant & Sons has to offer.”

The distiller will introduce some extremely rare whiskies for the first time to Thailand including one of 148 globally-available bottles of The Balvenie 50YO.

Connoisseurs and collectors can also expect other limited-edition collections and exceptional single cask bottlings at The Distillers Library such as the Glenfiddich 1973 Armagnac, 1978 Hogshead and 1978 Oloroso casks.

The company also brings to Thailand the first of a series of strictly private releases from the ghost Ladyburn distillery to mark the opening of The Distillers Library Bangkok.

The Grant family’s Scotch making history began in 1887 when William Grant built his first distillery with the help of his nine children and a single stonemason, in the northeast of Scotland.

Six generations later, William Grant & Sons remains family-owned and is the owner of the Glenfiddich brand, which is the world’s best-selling single malt Scotch whisky.
