Wines from two Thai wineries will be served to the participants of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit in Bangkok next month, which will be attended by more than 1,000 political and business leaders from around the world

The two Thai wineries being chosen are GranMonte and Monsoon Valley, their wines will be served during the gala dinner to welcome the participants with an aim to promote Thai products.

The GranMonte Estate locates in Asoke Valley adjacent to Khao Yai National Park, which is approximately 160 km from Bangkok.

The winery has about 17 hectares of vineyards which are planted at 350 metres above sea level. The grape varieties planted include Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Semillon, Verdelho, Durif and Grenache.

GranMonte’s wines attracted international attention in recent years, its NV GranMonte Crement Methode Traditionnelle Extra Brut received a gold medal at European wine competition, AWC Vienna 2022.

Monsoon Valley produces wine from vineyards planted in the touristy Hua Hin district in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.

In a valley 35 km from sunny Hua Hin beach, Monsoon Valley has planted about 110 hectares of vines. Varieties planted include Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Colombard, Chenin Blanc, Sangiovese, Rondo, Shiraz, Muscat and Dornfelder.

The winery website said their Cuvée De Siam Rouge received five gold medals at three world-class wine competitions.

The APEC Summit 2022 will take place from 16 to18 November at The Athenee Hotel Bangkok, under the theme “Embrace, Engage, Enable”.

An APEC CEO Summit will be held alongside the APEC Summit where world business leaders will congregate, making it an important platform to promote trade and investment in Thailand, and for Thailand to show its potential.
