ICHIRO’S OWNER VENTURE WHISKY TO BUILD NEW DISTILLERY IN HOKKAIDO

Venture Whisky, the distiller known for its Japanese whisky brand Ichiro's Malt whisky, will build a distillery in Sapporo city in Hokkaido in northern Japan.
Currently located in Chichibu city in Saitama prefecture, the company is planning to acquire a 6.6-hectare site in the Tomakomai eastern area in south Sapporo to build the new distillery.
The new facility has an annual capacity of 2.4 million litres, it will use corn and other cereal
grains to make grain whisky.
The new distillery is scheduled to start operation as early spring 2025.
Ichiro's Malt was recently named the world's best blended, limited-release whiskey at the World
Whiskies Awards 2023.
It is one of the top brands of Japanese whiskies and its founder Ichiro Akuto is often regarded as a rock star of the Japanese whisky industry.
