WINE TOURISM BOOM: INDIAN AIRLINE INDIGO INCREASED FLIGHT ROUTES TO NASHIK VALLEY

In the face of increasing interests in wine tourism in India, Indian airline IndiGo has announced 6 new flights to the country's prime wine region Nashik from 1 June 2023.
These flights include connections between Hyderabad and Nashik, Indore and Nashik as well as additional frequency on the Ahmedabad to Nashik route.
These new flights and frequencies are being added in view of the high demand for travel this summer season and will further enhance accessibility, while promoting tourism Nashik.
Nashik is called the “Wine Capital of India” as more than half of India’s vineyards and wineries are located there.
It is one of the fastest-growing cities in India, around 90 percent of all Indian wine comes from the Nashik Valley. It is also home to several wine festivals, such as SulaFest in the harvest season.
As an ancient holy city in Maharashtra, Nashik is one of the Hindu pilgrimage sites.
Vinay Malhotra, head of global sales of IndiGo said, “We are pleased to announce new connections from Nashik to cater to the increased travel demand from both business and leisure travellers. Nashik is famous for its rich cultural history, being one of the major Hindu pilgrimage sites hosting the Kumbh Mela every 12 years.”
