SURVEY: 7 OUT OF 10 S. KOREAN CONSUMERS HAVE OPTED FOR NO & LOW

Seven out of ten South Korean consumers have opted for sugar-free or non-alcoholic beverages when they are out for a drink, a recent survey has revealed.
The survey has interviewed 2000 regular customers of the country’s retail giant the Lotte group, out of them 71.6 percent said they having tried sugar-free or low alcohol soju.
Among them, 40.4 percent said the reason for choosing sugar-free and low alcohol is because these drinks have lower calories, another 25.9 percent said it is because these are healthier perception options
The survey results also revealed that 76.4 percent of the respondents have tried non-alcoholic beer. Among them. 48.3 percent said they chose alcoholic beer because the “situation did not allow them to consume alcohol” and another 30.1 percent said they tried non-alcoholic beer out of curiosity.
Despite that South Koreans are known for their drinking culture, majority of the respondents believed that the think behind alcohol consumption has shifted.
More and more young consumers now subscribe to the idea of healthy pleasure, which balances health and enjoyment.
