The New Zealand Wine Festival will return to Seoul and Busan this year in May.
The event in Seoul will be held on 4 May at The Grand Hyatt Waterfall Garden from 4 pm to 8 pm.
While the Busan event will remain at the Park Hyatt in Marine City, and will take place on 24 May from 6 pm to 10 pm.
Registration for both events is now open, professionals from the South Korean wine trade are welcome.
Meanwhile, this year’s New Zealand Wine Festival 2025, the country’s longest-running wine and food festival, has recently concluded with record-breaking number of participants.
Held in Christchurch on 8 February, this year’s event has attracted wine merchants from more than 30 countries, eager to explore the diverse range of wines on offer.
Local wine lovers also turned out in droves, excited to sample new vintages and engage with winemakers.
This year’s event has featured the Wine Business Forum and a celebration dinner to honour the New Zealand Winegrowers Fellows 2025 and the winners of Young Viticulturist and Tonnellerie de Mercurey Young Winemaker of the Year Competitions.
New Zealand's wine industry has been on an upward trajectory in recent years. Despite a 6 percent contraction in overall wine production in 2023, mainly due to Cyclone Gabrielle ruining an estimated 20,000 tons of grapes, the sector achieved a new peak in wine export volume over the last decade.
The country is known for its world-class Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. Marlborough on South Island is particularly well known for its Sauvignon Blanc. This variety accounted for over 75 percent of all wine grapes crushed in New Zealand in 2023, with more than 378,000 tons used for wine production.
