JAPAN’S CHATEAU MERCIAN ROLLED OUT ENGLISH GUIDED TOURS

Japan’s 145-year old Château Mercian has rolled out exclusive English guided tours at its Katsunuma and Mariko wineries.
This initiative is set to welcome wine lovers from around the world, providing them with an in - depth look into the art of Japanese winemaking.
The newly launched English guided tours offer guests a unique opportunity to taste six of its distinctive wines. Among them them are two of Château Mercian's most prized wines along with a special winemaker's recommendation.
The Katsunuma winery, located in Yamanashi Prefecture, is just 100 minutes from Tokyo by train.
During the tour, visitors can explore the winemaking facilities and the atmospheric wine cellar.
They can also visit Château Mercian’s Wine Museum which is housed in Japan's oldest wooden winery.
The wine museum serves as a time-capsule chronicling 145 years of Japanese winemaking history.
The Mariko winery, located in Ueda in Nagano Prefecture, has been ranked by "The World's Best Vineyards" for four consecutive years since 2020.
With 360 degree views of lush vineyards, it has transformed idle land into a thriving vineyard teeming with biodiversity, hosting 168 insect species and 289 plant varieties.
The winery's commitment to sustainable practices, including an innovative gravity - flow system, aligns with the UN's sustainable development goals.
These English guided tours are by appointment only, booking information can be found on Château Mercian’s official website.
