Hong Kong real estate entrepreneur Joseph Lau will again put this wine collection under the hammer at a live auction to be held by Christie’s in Hong Kong on 13 April.

Dubbed “Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau”, the auction will comprise 89 lots with an estimated total value exceeding HKD24 million (USD3m).

This is the second time in three years Lau puts his wine collection on sale, he cashed in a total of HKD125.4m earlier in a 2-part Sotheby’s auction dubbed “Wines from the Cellar of Joseph Lau” held in October 2020 and April 2021.

The collection to be auction out next month features a rare offering of DRC Romanée-Conti from 1989 to 2005 in large formats and a group of various vintages of Vosne-Romanée Cros-Parantoux by Henri Jayer from 1986 to 1999 in magnum.

It also includes a selection of Bordeaux First Growth vintages produced between 1982 and 2003, from estates including Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, Latour, as well as Lafleur, Pétrus, and Cheval Blanc.

“Every selected bottle is a testament to my thought, attention, and devotion to collecting only the most impeccable and rarest wines, and I look forward to sharing my top-notch favourites with sophisticated palates worldwide this April,” said Lau.

“Mr. Lau’s collection was assembled over 30 years, a period when it was still possible to source large quantities of the very rarest of wines, with the right degree of dedication and vision. This sale is very much a celebration of his aptitude in recognizing the rarest and very best, and a full display of his attention to provenance. We look forward to sharing these true legends and icons of the wine world from the visionary collector, with wine connoisseurs around the world in our live auction next month,” said Francis Belin, President of Christie’s Asia Pacific.

Following the sale of “Iconic Wines from Joseph Lau”, the live auction will also present around 500 lots of wines from various collectors, including bottles from Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, Italy, Spain and the U.S. Highlights include multiple vintages of Rousseau Chambertin, d’Auvenay Bonnes-Mares, Leflaive Montrachet, Salon, Sassacaia, Pingus, Alvaro Palacios L’Ermita and Screaming Eagle.
