The Hong Kong-based Flying Winemaker Group is partnering with South Korea’s Indulge Co. Ltd to expand to the country where the wine market is booming.
Founded and chaired by wine maker and critic Eddie McDougall, the Flying Winemaker is one of Hong Kong’s very few own wine brands.
The Indulge team is one of South Korea’s leading distributors of imported liquor which is venturing into the wine category.
The company will distribute Flying Winemaker’s range of wines to premium restaurants and hotels as well as a variety of online channels in South Korea.
“Our objective at The Flying Winemaker was to seek a Korean distribution partner who had the capabilities to represent and promote our portfolio of brands to a sophisticated growing wine market. With the appointment of Indulge as our distribution partner, I am very excited about the future of our Australian and New Zealand brands,” said McDougall.
“The Flying Winemaker series of wines offers a diverse collection from Australia and New Zealand that fits very well into the Korean wine scene. We believe that The Flying Winemaker’s portfolio will be one of New Zealand’s leading brands in the Korean market and we are very excited to be a part of this story,” said Harry Chung, Marketing Director of Indulge Co. Ltd.
The Flying winemaker wines to be included in Indulge’s portfolio are the Sauvignon Blanc 2021 and Pinot Noir 2019, both from Wairarapa of New Zealand.
