Hong Kong’s Wine and Dine Festival will return next month with over 700 bars and restaurants taking part, the organiser will hand out for free 50,000 e-coupons worth a total of HKD6.25 million (USD796,300) to customers who can then redeem them in the participating venues.

Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), the event’s organiser, said there will be no centralised venue and no online events this year, all actions will take place in the participating bars and restaurants.

It added that some of the coupons will be distributed to guests participating in next month's Global Financial Summit and the Hong Kong Sevens rugby tournament.

HKTB executive director Dane Cheng Ting-yat said: "This year, the board will continue to celebrate the festival all over the city. Using Hong Kong's quintessential flavours and mesmerising harbour views as inspiration, we have invited many well-known restaurants and bars to come up with innovative gourmet experiences, including the thematic Creative Cocktails Citywide and Wine on the Waterfront programs.”

"In addition to delighting locals and visitors with unique experiences, we will be showcasing the city's gastronomic treasures to the world with a view to encouraging travellers to plan their long-awaited Hong Kong trip to enjoy the tastes they have been missing," added Cheng.

Hong Kong residents and visitors can grab the first 25,000 e-coupons through HKTB’s Discover Hong Kong platform from 10 am on 3 November and the rest on 17 November.

Half of the coupons are worth HKD100 each and the other half HKD150 each.

Registered users can choose one of the two available coupons and can only keep one coupon at a time in their account.

The Wine and Dine Festival used to be held at Central Harbour Front before it fanned out to restaurants and bars across Hong Kong due to the pandemic last year.
