The Astor Bar at St. Regis Hotel of Kuala Lumpur has created a cocktail named after Oscar Best Actress winner Michelle Yeoh to celebrate the Malaysian actress’ achievement in the 2023 Oscar with her performance in the movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
The cocktail, named The Michelle, was said to have been created during a tasting session with Yeoh herself.
The Michelle has a clean and fresh taste, it is a blend of Gin, Vodka, Cinzano Bianco, Angostura Bitters and a lemon twist.
Available exclusively in the Astor Bar at St. Regis of Kuala Lumpur, details of the creation process of The Michelle has not been made known, but the creator has fully reflected Yeoh’s preference for a clean, light and refreshing style in the final recipe.
Having performed in many western big budget movies, Michelle Yeoh is the first ever Asian actor to have won Best Actress in the Oscar Awards.
Yeoh played Evelyn Wang, a Chinese migrant in USA who owns a busy laundromat in California, in the movie.
Wang's life is in big mess. She is being audited by the tax office, her husband wants to file for divorce and her relationship with her American born daughter is poor.
In the movie, Wang will thrust into another universe, one of many that shows all the ways her life could have gone had she made a different choice at different points in her life.
The actress transports from a tax building in California to the back of a limo, stepping onto a red carpet as a movie star like Yeoh's real self attending yet another big premiere.
