For the first time in Vinexpo Asia’s 25 years history, the event will be held in Singapore, instead of its normal host city Hong Kong, from 23 to 25 May 2023.

The Vinexposium group, the show’s French organiser, said the event is fully subscribed, and all the exhibitor areas were sold ahead of schedule.

Some 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries are expected to meet 8,000 trade visitors from across Asia, including Singapore, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan and Japan.

The USA, through a collective involvement of the three major USA wine regions, has been chosen as Country of Honor for this dition of Vinexpo Asia in Singapore.

A pavilion jointly organised by California Wines, Oregon Wine board and Washington Wine will showcase the different styles of wines from USA.

To be held in Marina Bay Sands, the show will also be hosting 40 sessions as part of the Vinexpo Academy. The masterclasses, major tastings and conferences will feature prominent experts of wine from around the world.

The 70 leading names that will be presenting these events include Raimonds Tomsons (2023 Best Sommelier of the World), Elaine Chukan Brown (American wine writer), Evan Goldstein (Master Sommelier) and Mason Ng (ASI 2022 Best Sommelier of Asia and Oceania). The Vinexposium group has earlier announced that Vinexpo Asia will take place in Singapore every odd-numbered year going forward.

Meanwhile, every even year, the show will be held in Hong Kong which is a gateway for the Chinese market.

However, there was no mentioning of what will happen to Vinexpo Shanghai.

The French organiser hosted the inaugural Vinexpo Shanghai show in May 2019, with the plan of holding the show alternately between Hong Kong and Shanghai, so there will be a Vinexpo show in China every year.

This plan did not work out because of the pandemic. Though China has now lifted all COVID restrictions, it is still unsure if Vinexpo Shanghai will return in the future.
