The provincial government of China’s inland Guizhou province will make a high-profile presence at the Singapore International Wine and Spirits Exhibition to be held from 27 to 29 May.
Home to leading baijiu brands including Kweichow Maotai, Zhenjiu, Diaoyutai and Guotai, Guizhou is endeavouring to expand the international footprint of its baijiu products.
Last Month the commerce department of Guizhou provincial government has awarded a RMB1.3 million contract to Guizhou Advertising and Exhibition Co. Ltd to assist in the preparation for participation in the Singapore show.
Lesser known brands including Guizhou Chun, Qingjiu, Yunjiu, Yelang Gu and Daguogujian will be shown along the leading brands in Singapore in May.
These distilleries will showcase a diverse range of their best-selling products, from classic baijiu varieties to new blends, aiming to attract more international attention and expand their market share in Singapore and the broader Southeast Asian region.
Guizhou’s baijiu makers will also educate show visitors on the traditional brewing techniques and the cultural connotations of their liquor.
They will hold tasting sessions and seminars to share the flavours and insights of Guizhou’s baijiu industry with participants.
The exhibition will serve as a platform for Guizhou's baijiu distilleries to connect with global spirit merchants, distributors and importers to explore possible collaboration opportunities.
