China’s alcoholic beverage exports reached USD 1.06 billion in the first half of 2025, representing a growth rate of 21.5 percent year-on-year, according to the latest report by China Beverage Importers and Exporters Association.

Baijiu, China’s leading liquor, has a particularly good performance. The export value of baijiu in this period is RMB 3.8 bilion (USD529 million), representing an increase of 30.9 percent. By volume, the export reached 8.3057 million liters, an increase of 7.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

The top five export destinations for Chinese baijiu are Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, United States and Japan.

Beer exports has also shown good performance. The export value of Chinese beer reached USD280 million, representing an increase of 25.8 percent.

Baijiu’s export growth is certainly good news to Chinese domestic liquor producers, as they have put substantial efforts in promoting the category in the international market in recent years.
