The Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival 2025 drew approximately 163,000 visitors during its four-day run at the Central Harbourfront over the weekend, marking significant growth in both attendance and spending compared to last year.
Co-organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Bordeaux Wine Council (CIVB), the annual event extended its opening hours until midnight for the first time. Average daily attendance increased by over 30 percent year-on-year, while daily tasting coupon sales surged by nearly 40 percent.
Both visitors and merchants praised the event, with vendors reporting sales growth of 40 to 50 percent compared to last year.
Hong Kong’s Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism Rosanna Law Shuk-pui said: "This year's Wine & Dine Festival achieved ideal growth in both visitor numbers and consumption, demonstrating the event's popularity among residents and tourists. The festival further reinforces Hong Kong's status as a 'culinary capital' while boosting the overall consumption atmosphere and allowing everyone to rediscover Hong Kong's 'the later, the more fantastic' vibe."
Hong Kong Tourism Board Chairman Peter Lam Kin-ngok credited the event's success to government support for extended operating hours and the participation of 1855 classified growth chateaux brought by their partner. He noted the popular return of the Tasting Pavilion and Premium Wine Zone, plus an enhanced Gourmet Street.
The festival featured over 300 booths - 70 percent dedicated to wines and 30 percent to food - attracting visitors from more than 30 countries and regions including mainland China, the United States, Europe, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia.
Exhibitors reported strong sales, noting that extended hours helped attract more nighttime customers and boost revenue.
