The world’s second largest vodka producer Russia’s Roust International has launched its Russian Standard Original vodka brand in the Indian market.
The Russian Standard brand is one of the most popular vodka brands in Russia currently holds 30% of market share.
The company believes that the Russian Standard brand will be well received by the increasingly discerning Indian consumers.
"Due to the recent trend toward the consumption of imported brands and a big potential of the alcohol market - 300m nine-litre cases per year - we are confident that Russian Standard will become one of the favourite brands in this fast evolving country," said Jonathan Ashworth, Managing Director EMEA, Roust International.
The company said that the deal is part of a partnership with Monika Enterprise, managed via it's UAE distributor partner MMI.
“Monika Enterprises is proud to be associated with the best Russian vodka the world has experienced. We have been known for more than three decades for our expertise in importing premium spirits and wine, and Russian Standard is a great addition to our portfolio. We look forward to reaching out to new consumers through a range of on-premise and retail channels,” said Kunal Patel, Director at Monika Enterprises.
The Indian branded spirits market has grown at a rate of more than 20% in ten years, reaching about USD4.5bn.
Roust International owns production facilities and distribution centres in Poland, Hungary, Russia and Italy.
It is the largest spirits producer and distributor in Central and Eastern Europe with over 30 million 9l cases sold in 2017. The company's portfolio includes Russian Standard, Green Mark, Talka, Parliament an Zhuravli, as well as the Polish vodka Zubrówka.
